Golf is a very popular sport in the Treasure Valley. No matter where you live in the valley, rest assured that you will live within a short drive to one or more of our beautiful courses. Some valley residents are lucky enough to live right next to a golf course. There are so many places to golf in the Treasure Valley, they will not fit into one blog. This blog will focus on courses in Nampa and Caldwell. At the end of this blog, there are links to our articles about golf courses in Boise as well as golf courses in Meridian and Eagle.
Centennial Golf Course – 2600 Centennial Drive, Nampa, ID 83687 (208) 468-5889
Centennial was Nampa’s first golf course, It was built thanks to a grassroots funding campaign that resulted in the course being built in 1987. In the more than 30 years since, Centennial has remained one of the valley’s favorite places to golf. One unique feature is the 4,000 square foot chipping green and bunker practice area, which allow you to hone your short game to perfection. Green fees during the week are $23 for adults and $17 for kids under 18. Centennial also offers season passes for the course in addition to season passes that are valid for both Centennial and Ridgecrest Golf Course, which is located next door! Open hours are from 6 am to 7 pm
Ridgecrest Golf Club – 3730 Ridgecrest Drive, Nampa, ID 83687 (208) 468-5888
Ridgecrest is located next door to Centennial Golf Course. It was built in 1996 and was named the #1 golf course in Idaho by Golf Digest in 1999 and 2000. For the last 9 years, Ridgecrest has received a 4-star rating from Golf Digest as well. In addition to a full 18 holes, Ridgecrest also features a 9-hole FootGolf course, similar to Lakeview in Meridian. Weekday green fees are $30 for adults and $20 for kids and after 3 pm. Dual season passes for both Ridgecrest and Centennial are also available. FootGolf is $11 for adults and $6 for kids.
RedHawk Golf Course – 12225 S Hunters Drive, Nampa, ID 83686 (208) 461-4295
RedHawk is the newest course in the valley, which opened in 2014. The course sits next to Lake Lowell and offers panoramic views of the lake and the Owyhee Mountains. The course is designed for championships, but is very accessible to all skill levels. Since opening in 2014, Red Hawk has already hosted 8 championships ranging from high school to national Pro-Am qualifiers. 9 holes costs $16.03 and 18 holes costs $24.02 on weekdays. Starting at 3 pm, 9 or 18 holes costs $20.75. Rates differ on weekends and winters.
Fairview Golf Course – 816 Grant Street, Caldwell, ID 83605 (208) 455-3090
Fairview Golf Course is a small, 9-hole course. Being a smaller course allows for quick rounds. Short courses and tight greens are great for beginners to learn on. Reserve tee times online here. Green Fees are $12.50 on weekdays and $13.50 on weekends.
Purple Sage Golf Course – 5192 Purple Sage Road, Caldwell, ID 83607 (208) 459-2223
Purple Sage is a full 18-hole municipal golf course that is well known for being beautiful and well-maintained, yet affordable. The course has hosted many Idaho State Open and Idaho State Amateur Championships. After a round, stop by the 19th hole to grab a drink and some food to celebrate! Green fees for adults are $15.25 for 9 holes and $19.75 for 18. Kids fees are $9.50 for 9 holes and $11.50 for 18 holes. Annual passes are available as well. Discounts are available for seniors over 65 as well as juniors under high school age.
